Support & Advocacy

Support and Advocacy Groups

Mental illnesses are fairly common, yet are widely misunderstood. Help from friends and relatives who are well informed about mental illnesses can play a pivotal role in paving the way back to mental health.

Support groups are formed both by patients with mental illnesses and by their friends and families. These can provide both practical know-how for coping with difficult circumstances and an understanding group of people whose personal experiences give them a special perspective.
